Use GymPal from your AI assistant

GymPal Connect is a remote MCP server. It gives Claude, ChatGPT, Grok and any other MCP client read-only access to GymPal's public listings in New York City: trainers, their offerings and open times, run clubs and circles, and live classes. No GymPal account is needed and nothing is booked or charged from the assistant; booking and payment happen in the GymPal app.

Server URL: https://mcp.getgympal.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP, no authentication).

Set up in Claude

Open Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector. Name it GymPal, paste the server URL and save. In a chat, turn GymPal on from the tools menu if it isn't already.

Set up in ChatGPT

Find GymPal in the ChatGPT app directory once it is listed. Until then, turn on Developer mode under Settings, Apps and Connectors, Advanced, then create a connector with the server URL.

Set up in Grok

Go to grok.com/connectors, choose New Connector, then Custom, and paste the server URL. In the xAI API, pass it as a remote MCP tool: {"type":"mcp","server_label":"gympal","server_url":"https://mcp.getgympal.com/mcp"}

Tools

search_trainers

Find GymPal trainers and coaches in New York City. Inputs: query, area, specialty, format (in_person, live_video, group_video, written), max_price (USD), limit. Read-only.

get_trainer

A trainer's full profile and every active offering with prices. Inputs: trainer_id. Read-only.

get_availability

Open booking times for a trainer, already excluding booked time. Inputs: trainer_id, service_id (optional), from_date (YYYY-MM-DD), days (1 to 14). Read-only.

search_circles

Run clubs and small training groups, with the next meetup. Inputs: area, activity, limit. Read-only.

search_classes

Upcoming live group classes with price and seats left. Inputs: days (1 to 30), limit. Read-only.

Coverage and limits

GymPal is in its New York City beta, so results are limited to NYC listings. Only active, published profiles appear. Locations are neighborhoods and gym names only, never exact addresses.

Audience

Listings returned by GymPal Connect are general-audience: no dating, messaging, member profiles or mature content. Booking, payment and every other account feature happen in the GymPal app, which requires an account holder aged 18 or older.
